DASH

The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension diet, commonly known as the DASH diet, is clinically proven to reduce blood pressure, according to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. The diet emphasizes fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains, nuts, fish and more.
Therapies

There are a variety of alternative therapies available for treating high blood pressure. These therapies include acupuncture, yoga, qi gong and paced respiration, which refers to slow, deep breathing with or without an over-the-counter device.
Oral

Taken orally, non-conventional treatments include garlic supplements, omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil and some nut and plant oils and coenzyme Q10, also known as CoQ10, taken in supplement form.
