Can a HIV patient die within five years?
It is not inevitable for an HIV patient to die within five years. With access to proper medical care, including antiretroviral therapy (ART), those infected with HIV can now expect to live long and healthy lives. ART works by suppressing the virus and preventing it from damaging the immune system. As long as the medication is taken as prescribed and the patient follows their doctor's instructions, it is possible to control the disease and live a normal life.
