Side Effects of Bromocriptine

Bromocriptine, also known as Parlodel is used to treat many conditions such as tumors in the pituitary gland. This drug, as with most drugs, has side effects but has had great success treating women with menstrual and ovulation problems.

    • Bromocriptine is used in the treatment of Parkinsons disease as well as a treatment for menstrual problems and infertility.

    Side Effects

    • The side effects associated with Bromocriptine include dizziness, nausea, fatigue, headache, constipation and abdominal cramps.

    Drug Interactions

    • Bromocriptine may interact badly with dopamine as well as some HIV protese inhibitors.

    Dosage

    • Bromocriptine is a pill that should be taken orally, usually starting with one-half to one pill daily. This is just a general dosage recommendation so you should always follow the instructions your doctor gives to you.

    Warning

    • When taking Bromocriptine, consult your doctor if you are or become pregnant and let him know about any other medications you may be taking.
