Signs of High Estrogen
Estrogen imbalance in women can cause many different problems. This is true whether or not the estrogen levels are low or high. For many women, the signs of high estrogen may go unnoticed and ultimately untreated. Knowing what to look for regarding this type of hormonal imbalance can also head off more serious ailments that can be caused by the imbalance.-
Excess Fluid
-
If the body is producing too much estrogen, one of the signs may be that the individual is suffering from a large amount of retained fluids. The fluid retention may be located in only one part of the body, such as the feet or the breasts or it may happen all over the body.
The Breasts
-
It is believed that fibrocystic breasts disease may be caused by excessive amounts of estrogen. Excessive estrogen can also cause the breast to swell, which can be extremely painful and also embarrassing to the individual.
Thyroid Issues
-
Issues with low thyroid can also be a sign of excessive estrogen. One of the symptoms of low thyroid is fatigue, which can also be a symptom of low estrogen.
Decreased Orgasms
-
Another sign of too much estrogen may be a drop in arousal or even suppressed or decreased orgasms. This can happen because excessive estrogen levels may inactivate the hormone testosterone.
Appetite
-
An overstimulated appetite may also be a sign of too much estrogen in the body. Excessive estrogen levels can make an individual crave sweet foods, which can lead to gaining weight in fluid and fat. Excessive estrogen can cause an individual to increase fat all over the body as opposed to only in the belly, which can be caused by low estrogen levels.
