When coming on your period can you concive?
While it is possible to conceive just before your period starts, it is unlikely. This is because ovulation, the release of an egg from the ovary, usually occurs 12 to 14 days before the start of your period. Therefore, if you have sex just before your period starts, it is likely that you will not be fertile and will not conceive.
However, it is important to note that some women ovulate earlier or later in their cycle than average. If you have a shorter menstrual cycle, you may ovulate closer to the start of your period, and if you have a longer menstrual cycle, you may ovulate later in your cycle. This means that if you have sex just before your period starts, there is a small chance that you could conceive.
For an example lets say you have a 28-day cycle. Then you would likely ovulate on day 14 of your cycle. If you have sex on day 13 or day 12 of your cycle, you may still be able to get pregnant.
If you are concerned about getting pregnant, it is best to use a reliable method of contraception such as condoms or birth control pills.
