What are exocrine secretions?
Exocrine secretions are substances released by exocrine glands through ducts to the epithelial surfaces (skin, lumen of hollow organs) or body cavities. They include enzymes, mucus, sweat and milk. Exocrine glands are the salivary glands, gastric glands, intestinal crypts, bile duct glands, sweat glands, mammary glands, and lacrimal glands. An apocrine gland is an exocrine gland in which the secretion is released by pinching off part of the cell into the duct.
