What causes STDs in the artificial insemination?
Artificial insemination (AI) does not directly cause sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). STDs are typically spread through unprotected sexual contact. However, if the sperm used in AI is not properly screened or from an infected donor, the risk of STD transmission can still exist. In these cases, STDs like the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV), or certain bacterial infections might be transmitted if precautions are not taken to ensure the health and safety of the sperm used in artificial insemination.
