Frequent Urination & Leg Pain

Frequent urination and leg pain may be symptoms of a serious medical condition. If you experience these symptoms, consult your doctor for correct diagnosis and treatment.
  1. Acute Bacterial Prostatitis

    • Acute bacterial prostatitis is a condition that may be caused by a sexually transmitted disease, damage to the prostate during surgery or from a catheter placed in the bladder (which may introduce bacteria into the prostate). This condition may cause pain in the leg and genital area, painful and frequent urination, fever and back pain. Antibiotics and pain medication are usually used to treat this condition.

    HIV Myelopathy

    • HIV myelopathy is a condition that is not often diagnosed among those that have HIV. The symptoms of HIV myelopathy are frequent urination, tingling, muscle cramps and pain in the legs. This condition develops in the later stages of HIV infection and there is no known treatment for it.

    Type 2 Diabetes

    • Type 2 diabetes is a condition that develops over time. The symptoms of Type 2 diabetes are frequent urination, leg pain, blurred vision, being slow to heal, increased thirst and dry mouth. It is important to see your doctor to develop a plan to control blood sugar and the symptoms of Type 2 diabetes.

    Kidney Infection

    • A kidney infection may cause pain in the back and sides, pain radiating to the leg, frequent urination, painful urination, nausea and vomiting. This is a serious condition that requires an antibiotic to rid the body of the infection.

    Urinary Tract Infection

    • A urinary tract infection, or UTI, is a condition that may cause you to feel sick. Other symptoms of a UTI are pain upon urination, frequent urination, muscle pain, and cloudy urine. A UTI is usually treated with an antibiotic and it is best to avoid alcohol, caffeine and spicy foods during treatment.
