TSH Resources

TSH, also known as thyroid-stimulating hormone, is responsible for regulating the production and delivery of thyroid hormone throughout the body. When TSH is too high in the body, it causes too little thyroid hormone to be released, resulting in hypothyroidism. In order to treat high TSH, it is important to take a thyroid hormone replacement. These TSH resources can be found in different forms.
  1. Synthetic Thyroid Hormone

    • Synthetic thyroid hormone is a chemically-created pharmaceutical thyroid replacement. This type of thyroid hormone is designed to chemically mimic the body's natural thyroid hormone. It is available in tablet form, and can be prescribed by a doctor.

    Natural Thyroid Hormone

    • Natural thyroid hormone is created from dessicated porcine, or pig, thyroid. The pulverized thyroid is carefully measured to make sure that the dosage is accurate, and combined with binding agents to make it easily form into tablets. Both traditional and natural doctors can prescribe natural thyroid.

    Compounded Thyroid Hormone

    • Compounded thyroid hormone is also dessicated porcine thyroid that is carefully measured, but is encapsulated into capsules without the use of binding agents. This type of thyroid replacement is especially helpful for people who react poorly to the binding agents in natural thyroid tablets. Natural doctors can prescribe compounded thyroid hormone.
