Does the HPV immunization prevent plantar warts?
The HPV immunization, also known as human papillomavirus vaccine, targets strains of the human papillomavirus that are responsible for causing certain types of cancer and genital warts. Plantar warts, on the other hand, are caused by different strains of HPV that are not covered by the HPV immunization. Therefore, the HPV immunization does not prevent plantar warts.
Plantar warts are typically treated with topical medications or procedures such as cryotherapy (freezing), laser therapy, or surgical excision. If you are experiencing plantar warts, it is recommended that you consult a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
