How many weeks pregnant do you have to be before a hpt will show up pos?
Most home pregnancy tests (HPTs) can detect pregnancy as early as 1 day before a missed period. This means that you can test as early as 12 days after ovulation. However, it's important to note that the earlier you test, the more likely you are to get a false negative result. This is because the level of hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) in your urine is still low at this point.
For the most accurate results, it's best to wait until at least 1 week after your missed period to take a HPT. At this point, the level of hCG in your urine will be high enough to be detected by most tests.
If you get a negative result on a HPT and you still think you might be pregnant, it's a good idea to take another test a few days later. You can also talk to your doctor about getting a blood test for pregnancy, which can detect pregnancy earlier than a HPT.
