1
Purchase glucose tablets at your local pharmacy. They come in a variety of fruit flavors and can be purchased in tubes of ten or bottles to refill the tubes. Place a container of these tablets in places where they may be needed quickly, such as your purse, car, work desk and medicine cabinet.
-
2
Take a tablet at the first signs of weakness, tremors, dizziness or disorientation. These are some signs of the early stages of blood sugar drops. Put a tablet in your mouth and chew it.
-
3
Put some small pieces under your tongue and allow them to remain there for at least 30 seconds. This allows the glucose to enter your bloodstream faster in a sublingual pathway. It is the quickest pathway into the blood, other than a IV.
-
4
Rest and wait for at least 10 minutes for the blood levels to come up and for the dizziness and weakness to pass.
