Natural Antibiotic Cure for Strep
A sore throat is not always strep. Standard sore throats are caused by viral infections and can't be treated with antibiotics. Strep throat however, is caused by streptococcal (strep) bacteria, and it must be treated with natural or prescription antibiotics.-
Strep Symptoms
-
Strep throat is characterized by a very sore throat. In most cases it's accompanied by a high fever, swollen lymph nodes, white blister type nodules at the back of the throat, soreness and joint pain--particularly in the back of the neck.
Strep throat can cause fevers to go as high as 102 to 103. These levels can be dangerous for children particularly and cannot be left untreated.
Natural Antibiotics
-
There are many powerful natural antibiotics which work well at killing bacteria, but kelp is the best to use for killing strep bacteria. Kelp is very high in natural iodine, and iodine kills bacteria and other disease-causing organisms.
Since strep bacteria is often found at the back of the throat, the best way to ensure the fastest results with a natural antibiotic is to take it in oral liquid form so the medicine comes into contact with the bacteria itself.
You'll need real kelp for this to work properly. Any hard pill or supplement which says it "includes" kelp may not work well because there's usually not enough kelp in them. Buy organic kelp gelcaps instead--they have dried ground kelp inside them.
Swallowing the kelp gelcap whole will help, but that takes longer to kill the strep bacteria. The fastest way to get results is to create a kelp tea.
Make a cup of strong warm tea, and dissolve the kelp gelcap into it. The kelp will make the tea gritty and slightly unpleasant, but coating the throat with it is critical to success.
Drink as much of the tea as you can--swirl it around in your mouth a bit to ensure all areas are coated. To ensure the iodine has had a chance to do its work, wait at least 20 minutes before drinking anything else or rinsing your mouth.
Warnings
-
Natural antibiotics and cures are not recognized or approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and strep throat can lead to severe medical problems if it's left untreated.
If you decide to try the natural antibiotic strategies listed above and you do not see improvements within 24 hours, visit your doctor for prescription antibiotics right away.
