Pinamox Side Effects

Pinamox is a type of amoxicillin used to fight bacteria in the body that cause illness in the user. Pinamox is used to fight many types of bacterial infections, including ear infections, bladder infections, gonorrhea, pneumonia and E. coli. As is the case with most antibiotic medications, there are a number of side effects associated with its use.
  1. Common Side Effects

    • As mentioned, there are certain side effects associated with using Pinamox. Some of these side effects include stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, vaginal itching, vaginal discharge, swollen tongue, and white patches or sores on the inside of the mouth. While these are considered the most common side effects associated with using this drug, they only affect a small number of users.

    Severe Side Effects

    • Unfortunately, there are also a number of severe side effects associated with using Pinamox. Some of these side effects include fever, sore throat, allergic reaction, difficulty breathing, tightening of the chest, bloody diarrhea, seizures, unusual urination patterns, flu-like symptoms, body ache and unusual thoughts or behavior. These side effects are also very rare and do not affect a large amount of users.

    Important Safety Information

    • Before beginning treatment with Pinamox, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any type of medication or suffer from any of the following ailments: kidney disease, liver disease, asthma, a blood clotting disorder, mononucleosis, a history of allergies, or a history of diarrhea following the use of antibiotics. Pinamox is classified as FDA pregnancy category B and is not expected to cause harm to an unborn baby.

    Use

    • Always use Pinamox exactly as it was prescribed by your doctor and never in dosages large than what has been recommended on the label. This medication is administered in either liquid or capsule form and can be taken with or without food. If you are taking the chewable tablet, make sure it has been fully chewed before swallowing. If using the liquid form of Pinamox, shake the liquid well before drinking and always use the provided measuring cup to ensure the proper dosage.

    • If you experience any of the aforementioned side effects, contact your doctor immediately.

      If an overdose is suspected, contact the poison control center and head directly to the nearest emergency room.

      Pinamox is used to treat bacterial infections only and should never be used to treat any other medical condition unless specifically instructed to do so by a doctor.
