Rare Losec Side Effects

Rare losec, also known as omeprazole, is a medication used to treat medical conditions in which there is too much acid in the stomach. The medication is used mainly to treat gastric disorders and duodenal ulcers in users. As with most stomach medications, there are a number of side effects associated with using the medication.
  1. Common Side Effects

    • As mentioned, there are certain side effects associated with using this medication. Some of these side effects include bleeding of the lips, chills, bloody urine, fever, general discomfort, constipation, diarrhea, gas, loss of voice, sneezing, runny nose, drowsiness and dizziness. While these are considered the most common side effects associated with using this medication, they only affect a small amount of users.

    Severe Side Effects

    • Unfortunately, there are also a number of severe side effects that can come as a result of using this medication. Some of these side effects include stomach pain, back pain, constipation, chest pain, diarrhea, cough, headache, heartburn, nasal congestion, runny nose, vomiting, unusual bleeding or bruising, sores or ulcers on the genitals and joint pain. These side effects are also very rare and do not affect a large amount of users.

    Important Safety Information

    • Rare losec has been known to cause unusual dizziness and drowsiness in users. As a result, it is recommended that users do not operate any type of machinery (including automobiles) while using this medication. Tell your doctor if you have ever had any type of allergic reaction to food or medication before beginning treatment with this drug. This medication is also known to be excreted into breast milk, so proceed with extreme caution when using this medication.

    Usage

    • Always use this medication exactly as it was prescribed to you by your doctor and never in dosages that exceed what has been recommended on the label. The medication can be administered in either pill or powder form and can be taken either with food or on an empty stomach. Always swallow the capsule whole and never chew, crush or break up the medication as it will administer too much of the medication at one time.
