Candida Yeast Cures

Candida albicans is a fungus that is naturally present in the intestinal and genital tracts. However, when there is an overgrowth the body experiences such symptoms as diarrhea, skin itching, sore throat, congestion and genital discharge. Infections like vaginitis, thrush and diaper rash are all caused by candida. Symptoms of this yeast infection can be treated, cured and prevented.
  1. Nutrients

    • Acidophilus is one of the most effective candida-fighting nutrients found in yogurt and in pills; sugarless of yogurt is advised. Store acidophilus pills in the refrigerator. Another powerful nutrient is eugalan forte which restores cell functions to fight off the overgrowth and kill the fungus. Take caprylic acid in a timed-release pill to dissolve in the colon, which allows for this anti-fungal agent to reach the entire length of the large intestines. Other important nutrients that battle candida yeast infections are include garlic capsules, flaxseed oil, quercetin, bromelain, vitamin B complex and calcium. Detox and rebuild damaged tissues with coenzyme A and free-form amino acid complex.

    Herbs

    • Herbs can be effective treatments for yeast infections. Aloe vera juice can be purchased at most health food stores, and helps white blood cells destroy yeast. Olive leaf extract is another essential herb used to treat candida yeast infections. Kolorex contains an antifungal agent that helps to maintain the proper balance of yeast. Pau d'arco comes as a tea and pre-made batches can be stored in the refrigerator---don't use honey or milk in this tea.

    Diet

    • Diet is an important factor in controlling the amount of yeast in the body. Sugary, refined and processed foods feed yeasts, causing or continuing its overgrowth. Refrain from eating aged cheese, alcohol, soy sauce, pastries, gluten products, acidic fruits, raw mushrooms, potatoes, chocolate and anything containing yeast. Choose raw vegetables, fiber and lean meats until the infection is controlled.

    Tips

    • If you are suffering from a vaginal yeast infection, carefully insert a clove of garlic into the vagina; a strong can be tied to the middle of the clove. Let sit for 15 minutes before pulling out. Wear cotton underwear as synthetic undergarments trap moisture, which fuel yeasts. Rethink oral contraceptives if you get recurring infections. Use over-the-counter medicated creams as a last resort---the body actually builds up an immunity to the creams. A yeast fighting agent like diflucan can be prescribed to treat candida infection. Babies who have thrush must be treated along with their mothers to avoid reinfection when breastfeeding. These cures also prevent yeast infections. When yeast overgrowth subsides, be cognizant of the foods you eat to avoid recurrence.
