Instructions

    • 1

Warm up 1 to 2 cups of water on the stove for 5 minutes on medium heat. Keep in mind you are going to squeeze fresh lime juice into the water, so the less water there is, the more sour it will be. Once the water is warm, remove it from the heat.

    • 2

Pour the water into a large mug or cup. If necessary, you can use a funnel. Be cautious with this step to avoid scalding yourself with the hot water. If the water is boiling at this point, wait 5 minutes before pouring it into the mug.

    • 3

Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice into the mug. It is best to hold the cut side of the lime against your palm; this keeps the seeds from falling into the mug. Use the juice from both halves of the lime.

    • 4

Add 4 tsp. of honey and a 1/4 tsp. of salt to the water. This will help soothe your throat and also make the drink less sour.

    • 5

Continue drinking this three times a day until the tonsillitis has fully healed.
