Symptoms of a Flu Relapse
The flu is a common respiratory virus that, according to the Centers for Disease Control, affects 5 to 20% of the population each year. There are more than 200,000 yearly hospitalizations from the flu and around 36,000 flu related deaths each year. Medications are available to help battle the flu; however, relapses can occur.-
Signifcance

It is important to be aware of how the body reacts to drugs battling the flu. If a relapse does occur, it is imperative to seek medical help. Left untreated, the flu can turn into pneumonia and lead to hospitalization.

No one can completely prevent the flu; however, some steps can be taken to ensure that a person remains healthy during flu season. Get a flu shot, wash your hands often and stay out of public places if symptoms of the flu remain.

Ignoring flu relapse signs can result in serious complications, including death. It is important to take all flu signs seriously and to contact a physician if flu symptoms persist.
