Recognize the "slapped cheek" appearance of fifth disease. Other symptoms include general flu-like symptoms including runny nose, sore throat, headache, itching, pain, fever, itching, joint pain and swelling. The slapped cheeks appearance normally occurs several days after the flu-like symptoms.
