Boost your immune system and fight sinus infections by taking vitamins A and C. Purchase supplement forms of the vitamins at any health food or grocery store. Take 1000 to 2000 milligrams of vitamin C with plenty of water upon waking each morning, then every four hours for the rest of the day. Take 10000 to 30000 IU (3000 to 9000 mcg) of vitamin A per day unless you are pregnant, in which case you shouldn't take more than 10000 IU.

Make a saltwater solution for your Neti pot. Pour eight ounces of lukewarm or room temperature water into a glass. Add a half teaspoon of noniodized salt and a pinch of baking soda to the water. Stir until mixed well. You can also purchase a commercial saline rinse if you don't wish to make one.

Irrigate your nasal passages with a Neti pot to get rid of mucus and rinse out germs. Wash your hands and then fill the Neti pot with eight ounces of saltwater solution. With your head slightly tilted to the left, lean over a sink. Put the spout of the Neti pot to your right nostril. Breathing through your mouth, tilt the Neti pot until the solution pours out of your left nostril. Repeat on the other side. Use four to eight ounces of the solution depending on how congested you are.
