Irrigate your nasal passages with a Neti pot to get rid of mucus and rinse out germs. Wash your hands and then fill the Neti pot with eight ounces of saltwater solution. With your head slightly tilted to the left, lean over a sink. Put the spout of the Neti pot to your right nostril. Breathing through your mouth, tilt the Neti pot until the solution pours out of your left nostril. Repeat on the other side. Use four to eight ounces of the solution depending on how congested you are.
