Hydrogen Peroxide As a Remedy for External Yeast Infection
A yeast infection causes pain and discomfort that can take more than a week to go away. No matter where the infection is on your body, treat it with a combination of dietary changes and hydrogen peroxide. This chemical, when mixed with water, can kill unwanted bacteria and provide oxygen for cells around the infection.-
How to Clean an Infection with Hydrogen Peroxide Solution
-
Add 1 tsp. of hydrogen peroxide to a cup of water and mix. According to How to End Yeast Infection, take care to avoid adding more peroxide --- this can inflame the area around an infection and cause a burning sensation. Carefully pour the solution onto the affected area.
If you'd prefer to give your body more exposure to peroxide, consider soaking in a peroxide bath. Fill a bathtub with water and add a pint of full-strength hydrogen peroxide, then stir the water with your hand. Soak in this bath for at least 10 minutes.
Before you try either of these methods, ask your doctor about the severity of your infection. According to Natural Cures, a peroxide solution will not help an infection at a critical stage.
Dietary Changes
-
Add hydrogen peroxide to your diet in the form of fruit juice. Many fruits and vegetables --- notably watermelon and cranberry --- contain peroxide that you can easily absorb by drinking their juices. Drink large amounts of watermelon or cranberry juice every day until your infection heals.
Also avoid unhealthy foods. Until your infection subsides, stay away from alcohol, caffeine, dairy products and soft drinks. Natural Remedies suggests that you replace them with nuts, olive oil and flaxseed --- you may also eat lean meats such as turkey or chicken. Eat as many vegetables as possible to give your body the vitamins it needs.
