Flucloxacillin Side Effects
Flucloxacillin (brand name Floxapen) is an antibiotic in the penicillin group used to treat bacterial infections. It is considered effective and safe to take, but like most medications it does have the possibility of side effects.-
Gastrointestinal Distress

Some people taking Flucloxacillin may experience nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
Other Infections

While using Flucloxacillin, you may experience an overgrowth of organisms that are not susceptible to this antibiotic. This could lead to infections such as thrush.
Colitis

Flucloxacillin may cause the large intestine to become inflamed.
Rash

Allergic reactions to Flucloxacillin may cause rashes, hives or itching.
Jaundice and Hepatitis

Flucloxacillin could cause jaundice, which is a yellowing of the skin, or inflammation of the liver, such as hepatitis.
Warning

If you are allergic to penicillin or cephalosporin type antibiotics, do not use Flucloxacillin.
Do not use this medicine if you have a history of liver problems or jaundice caused by previous treatment with Flucloxacillin.
