Herbal Treatment for Staph

Staph infections, or boils, carbuncles and impetigo, can be difficult to treat with conventional medicine because strains of staph have become immune to them--methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Fortunately, Mother Nature offers a natural cure that you can do at home and it is much less expensive than prescriptions medications and more effective.
  1. Nutrition

    • Your first defense is your immune system, and in order for your body to fight the infection, you must give it the proper fuels. It needs adequate rest, probably more than you usually need, hydration and good nutritious foods. Make sure you are getting lots of vitamin C. It is also very helpful to take a probiotic (one that requires refrigeration, such as Kyo-Dophilus) to help boost your immunity.

    Compresses

    • A compress is made up of two clothes, one is sterile gauze and the other could be a facecloth. You will be disposing of the facecloth after every use, and you will be using 3 a day for probably a week. You can purchase inexpensive face clothes at any department store. Underneath both cloths will be an herbal treatment that will draw out the infection.

Fill a bowl with very hot water and put in a washcloth. The herbal remedy will consist of cloves of fresh garlic cut into slivers to cover the affected area, honey and enough yellow cider vinegar to make a loose paste. Place it directly onto the affected area and cover with gauze. Wring out the hot wet cloth and place it on top of the gauze. You will rewet and replace this cloth 3 times in 30 minutes and you will do this 3 times a day.

    Keep it to yourself

    • Staph is highly contagious, so keeping your infection to yourself is of utmost importance. The best thing is to just stay home so that you don't spread it to the public. At home, wash your hands frequently and have anyone else in the home do the same. Use an antibacterial soap and hot water and wash for at least 1 minute. Don't share your towels, linens or clothes with anyone else and you will want to wash them seperately in hot water and a small amount of bleach. Make sure no one uses your razor.
