Levaquin is a quinolone antibiotic used in adults to treat many different types of infections. It is available only by prescription.-
Uses

Levaquin is used to fight respiratory infections such as acute bacterial sinusitis, acute bacterial bronchitis and pneumonia. Levaquin is also used to treat skin infections such as complicated and uncomplicated skin structure infections. It is also used to treat kidney and urinary tract infections including prostatitis and pyelonephritis
Precautions

Use caution when taking Levaquin if you have a history of convulsions as convulsions have been reported in some patients taking quinolone antibiotics. If you are diabetic you may have difficulty with your blood sugar if you are taking insulin while taking Levaquin.
Side Effects

Liver damage has been reported by people taking quinolone antibiotics, so be sure to report any symptoms of liver damage to your doctor.
Sun Sensitivity

Levaquin can make you sun sensitive, so be careful when going out into the sun, use protection and avoid sun while taking this medication.
When Using Antibiotics

As with any antibiotic take exactly as much your doctor has prescribed and take all of your medication. Report all unusual side effects to your doctor.
