How to Kill Hookworms

Hookworm infection (ancylostomiasis) is caused by parasitic roundworms, either by Necator americanus or Ancylostoma duodenale. You get infected by coming in contact with hookworm eggs in soil or stool. The larvae enter your skin and make their way to your lungs via your bloodstream. Once in your lungs, they travel up your trachea (windpipe) and are swallowed. As they pass into your digestive tract, they affix themselves to your small intestine where they feed off your blood and grow. If left untreated, hookworm infestation can lead to iron-deficiency and severe abdominal pain.
