How to Treat Levaquin Side Effects

Levaquin is an antibacterial medication used to treat infections. Most infections are caused by bacteria. These microorganisms can grow, replicate and spread throughout the body, causing illness.   Take 1 tsp. of apple cider vinegar before each meal. Levaquin can irritate the stomach lining and kill all the healthy bacteria living in the intestines, causing diarrhea. This type of vinegar treats that side effect. Apple cider vinegar works by balancing the acidity in the stomach and ensuring the proper growth of normal bacteria living in the intestines.

  Take Lobelia inflata (Indian tobacco), which treats the condition anuria (inability to urinate), a side effect of Levaquin. Lobelia inflata works by relaxing the bladder muscles to gently force out urine. The herb can comes in tablet or capsule form. Either one is acceptable.

  Drink peppermint and elder flower tea. Add 4 tbsp. of peppermint leaves and 4 tbsp. of elder flower to three cups of water, and bring the mixture to a boil. This tea relieves the fever associated with taking Levaquin.

  Gargle with sea saltwater solution. Mix 10 tbsp. of sea salt in one cup of hot water. Gargle for 10 minutes. This will relieve your sore throat quickly. Gargle this solution three to four times a day or when needed.
