How were rabies cured in the 1800s?
There were no established cures for rabies in the 1800s. Rabies is a deadly viral disease that affects the central nervous system of mammals, including humans. In the early 1900s, the Pasteur treatment, developed by Louis Pasteur and his colleagues in the 1880s, was the first effective treatment for rabies. It involved a series of injections of a weakened form of the rabies virus to stimulate the immune system and protect against the disease. Prior to that, there was no known cure and rabies infection was invariably fatal.
