With a water infection are you likely to be sick?
A water infection is most likely referring to a urinary tract infection (UTI). UTIs are common infections that can affect any part of the urinary system, including the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. Most UTIs are caused by bacteria that enter the urethra and multiply in the bladder.
A UTI can cause several symptoms, including:
- A frequent and urgent need to urinate
- Pain or burning sensation during urination
- Cloudy, dark, or foul-smelling urine
- Pelvic pain, particularly in women
- Fever, chills, and vomiting (in severe cases)
Depending on the location and severity of the infection, a UTI can make a person feel unwell, as they experience the physical symptoms listed above. However, some cases of less severe UTIs might not cause noticeable systemic symptoms beyond discomfort while urinating.
