Is Nosocomial infection a food infection?
Nosocomial infections, also called hospital-acquired infections, are acquired in the hospital or other health care settings, and are one of the most important and prevalent categories of healthcare-associated infections (HAI), which in turn are subcategories of infectious diseases.
Food infection or food poisoning is a gastrointestinal illness. It is usually caused by eating food that has been contaminated with bacteria, viruses, or parasites.
Symptoms of food poisoning may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea , fever, and dehydration.
So food infection is not nosocomial infection.
