Can you get yeast infection in your nose?
While it's uncommon, yeast infections can indeed occur in the nose. Nasal yeast infections are often caused by the fungus Candida, which can grow in warm, moist environments and may enter the nose through allergies, nasal surgeries, immunosuppression, or the use of antibiotics. Nasal yeast infections can lead to symptoms such as persistent nasal discharge, congestion, nasal pain, loss of smell, and itchiness. If left untreated, fungal sinusitis may occur. Diagnosis involves nasal swab culture or biopsy, and treatment typically involves antifungal medications applied directly into the nose or taken orally.
