How to Take Care of an Infected Naval
An infected navel, whether caused by a navel piercing or otherwise, can be very uncomfortable. You may experience pain, warmth, pus or bleeding. There are some ways you can take care of your naval, but if you have an infection you should consult a doctor. While you may be able to handle the symptoms, the infection can become very serious very quickly and spread to other parts of your body, so you must handle it immediately.Things You'll Need

1
Keep your navel dry.

2
Wash your navel two times a day with an antibacterial soap. Do not wash more than two times or use too much soap as this will dry out your navel and make it more prone to infection. Carefully pat it dry with tissue or gauze (not towels, which can retain bacteria).
-
3
Put a water and salt solution on your navel for five minutes once a day. This gets rid of dried blood as well as bacteria.
-
4
Once a day, for approximately a minute, rotate your piercing, but only if your piercer told you to. For some, this can cause the healing process to take longer.
