      Purchase shampoo that contains selenium sulfide. According to the Mayo Clinic, selenium sulfide shampoos come under brand names such as Dandrex, Selenos, SelseB, Selsun Blue, and Tersi Foam.

      Wet hair with lukewarm water.

      Apply 1 to 2 teaspoons of shampoo to your hair and work up a lather.

      Wait 2 to 3 minutes before rinsing. Repeat if necessary.
