How do you calculate the day conceived with ivf?
The day of conception for IVF is the day the egg and sperm are combined in the petri dish. This is also known as the "fertilization date". The fertilization date is used to determine the gestational age of the embryo and the expected due date.
To calculate the fertilization date, count back 14 days from the date of your expected period. This is the day you would have ovulated if you had not conceived through IVF. The fertilization date is then 5 days after the date of ovulation.
For example, if your expected period was due on February 28, you would have ovulated on February 14. The fertilization date would then be February 19.
Here is a breakdown of the calculation:
* Expected period: February 28
* Ovulation day: 14 days before expected period = February 14
* Fertilization date: 5 days after ovulation = February 19
Note: This calculation is just an estimate. The actual fertilization date may be a day or two earlier or later than the calculated date.
