When do the testes and ovaries begin making active reproductive cells?
In males, the testes begin producing sperm cells or spermatozoa after puberty. In females, the ovaries begin producing mature ova or eggs upon reaching puberty. Puberty is the stage of development when the human body undergoes various changes, including the maturation of the reproductive system. On average, puberty occurs around 12 years of age for girls and a bit later, around 14 years, for boys, although there can be individual variations. During puberty, hormonal changes initiate the production and release of active reproductive cells, which are necessary for sexual reproduction.
