Women who have polycystic ovary syndrome that loses weight may also lower their blood pressure and androgen levels.

      Use oral contraceptives. Another well known treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome is the use of oral contraceptives. This method is for the female who has been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome and who is not attempting to get pregnant. This technique may regulate menstrual cycles, lower androgen levels and reduce the recurrence of acne. Lower androgen levels may increase fertility in women.

      Take medication. A medication that is used to treat the Polycystic ovary syndrome is Antiandrogen. The medication is designed to avert the body from making additional androgens. The medication will also limit the effects of androgens. Oral contraceptives are often taken while a woman is using ant androgens, for it may cause birth defects.

The particular capability of Eflornithine in the treatment of women who suffer from PCOS is not known.
