I have come off the pill and not yet had a period so why is your ovulation test coming up negative?
It is normal for it to take some time for your menstrual cycle to return to normal after stopping birth control pills. It may take several weeks or even months for your body to adjust and start ovulating again. During this time, you may not have a period or your periods may be irregular.
Ovulation tests detect the presence of luteinizing hormone (LH) in your urine. LH is a hormone that surges in the days leading up to ovulation. However, if you have not yet ovulated, there will be no LH surge and the ovulation test will come up negative. This does not necessarily mean that you are not fertile - you may just need to wait a little longer for your body to start ovulating again.
Here are a few things you can expect after stopping birth control pills:
* Irregular periods: Your periods may be irregular for the first few months after stopping the pill. This is normal and it does not necessarily mean that you are not fertile.
* An early or late period: Your first period after stopping the pill may come early or late. This is also normal.
* Missed periods: You may miss one or more periods after stopping the pill. This is also normal and it does not necessarily mean that you are not fertile.
If you are concerned about your fertility, it is always a good idea to talk to your doctor. They can help you track your cycle and determine when you are ovulating.
