Is artificial insemination possible with tied cut and burned tubes?
Artificial insemination is a fertility treatment in which sperm is collected and inserted into the uterus or cervix. It can be done with either fresh sperm or frozen sperm. For successful artificial insemination, the fallopian tubes need to be open and healthy, allowing the sperm to reach the eggs. If a woman has had her fallopian tubes cut and burned (a surgical procedure called tubal ligation), artificial insemination will not be possible.
There are, however, other fertility treatments that may be an option for women who have had their fallopian tubes cut and burned. These treatments include in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo transfer. IVF involves surgically retrieving eggs from the ovaries and fertilizing them with sperm in a laboratory dish. The fertilized eggs are then transferred back into the uterus. Embryo transfer involves surgically transferring already fertilized eggs into the uterus.
If you are considering fertility treatments, it is important to talk to your doctor about your individual situation and which treatments may be right for you.
