Can you use a ovulation test to find out if your pregnant or not?

Ovulation tests are not designed to detect pregnancy. Pregnancy is confirmed by the presence of the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in the urine or blood. Ovulation tests detect the presence of luteinizing hormone (LH), a hormone that surges prior to ovulation. While LH levels can be elevated in early pregnancy, they are not a definitive sign of pregnancy. A pregnancy test is the only way to confirm pregnancy.
