Can an Ovulation Test still work if your tubes are blocked?
An ovulation test will still work if your fallopian tubes are blocked. Ovulation tests detect the surge in luteinizing hormone (LH) that occurs before ovulation. This surge in LH is not affected by whether or not your fallopian tubes are blocked.
However, if your fallopian tubes are blocked, you will not be able to get pregnant, even if you ovulate. This is because the fallopian tubes are the pathway for the egg to travel from the ovary to the uterus. If the fallopian tubes are blocked, the egg will not be able to reach the uterus and pregnancy cannot occur.
If you are trying to get pregnant and you have blocked fallopian tubes, you may want to talk to your doctor about in vitro fertilization (IVF). IVF is a fertility treatment that can help you get pregnant even if you have blocked fallopian tubes.
