What is the action of Lesuride on intestines?
Lesuride belongs to a class of medication, known as selective serotonin receptor agonist with gastrointestinal prokinetic, that improves the digestion system by enhancing muscle contraction for effective bowel movement. These medicines are used to increase intestinal mobility in situations of postoperative paralytic ileus, a state after surgical operations when intestinal activity remains temporarily halted (usually 2 - 3 days); and acute pseudo-obstruction, a type of bowel irregularity characterised by symptoms associated with obstruction but has no physical blockade present
