What is the celiac ganlion?

Celiac ganglion (also known as celiac plexus) is the largest autonomic nerve plexus in the abdominal cavity. It is located behind the *stomach* and the lesser omentum. It arises from the *T5*-*L1* sympathetic nerves and the *R* and *L* vagus nerves (CN X). The celiac ganglion divides into three sets of nerves:

- The celiac nerves, which supply the *stomach*, *liver*, *gallbladder*, *spleen*, and *pancreas*.

- The superior mesenteric nerves, which supply the *small* and *large intestines* and their associated structures.

- The renal nerves, which supply the *adrenal glands* and *renal plexus*.
