What is the difference between celiac disease and a coeliac disease?

Celiac disease and coeliac disease are two different names for the same condition. The term "celiac disease" is more commonly used in the United States, while "coeliac disease" is more commonly used in the United Kingdom, Europe, and other parts of the world. Both terms refer to an autoimmune disorder in which the ingestion of gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye, causes damage to the small intestine.
