Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that affects the interior lining of the colon (large intestine) and continuous stretches of the colon. There are five different types of Ulcerative colitis which are categorized by the precise location and severity of the inflammation.They include Ulcerative proctitis, Proctosigmoiditis, Left-sided colitis, Pan Colitis and Fulminant colitis.
