Chest pain can have various causes, so it's important to consult with a healthcare professional for proper evaluation and diagnosis. Here are some possible causes of chest pain:

1. Angina: Angina is chest pain or discomfort caused by reduced blood flow to the heart muscle. It can feel like pressure, squeezing, or tightness in the chest and may be accompanied by shortness of breath, nausea, and pain radiating to the neck, jaw, arms, or back.

2. Heart Attack: A heart attack occurs when blood flow to the heart is suddenly blocked and heart muscles begin to die. The most common symptom is chest pain or discomfort in the center or left side of the chest that may last more than a few minutes. It can also be accompanied by other symptoms like shortness of breath, nausea, sweating, and dizziness.

3. Costochondritis: Costochondritis is an inflammation of the cartilage that connects the ribs to the breastbone. It can cause sharp pain or tenderness in the chest area, usually worse when coughing or taking deep breaths.

4. Musculoskeletal Pain: Chest pain can sometimes arise from muscle or skeletal issues, such as strains, sprains, or injuries in the chest area. This pain is typically localized to the affected area and may be worse with movement.

5. Lung Problems: Certain lung conditions, such as pneumonia, pleurisy, or pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs) can also cause chest pain. Pleurisy, in particular, can cause sharp chest pain that is worsened by breathing deeply or coughing.

6. Acid Reflux: While you mentioned this is less likely, severe or persistent acid reflux can sometimes lead to chest pain that can feel similar to angina.
