Kidney Stones Home Remedy

Kidney stones are caused by a number of factors, some genetic and some environmental. They can occur in men and women, though they are more prevalent in men. Although you should always consult a doctor if you believe you have kidney stones, there are some home remedies you can try to help reduce or eliminate your stones.
  1. Kidney Beans

    • Kidney beans have long been considered an effective treatment for kidney ailments. To use the kidney-bean method, boil about two ounces of kidney beans in water for six hours. Make sure the beans being used are dry, not canned. After boiling, strain the resulting liquid and cool for eight hours. Strain once more. Drink a glass of the liquid every two hours for a day. After this, reduce intake to several times a week. However, it should be noted that the liquid loses its efficacy after 24 hours; therefore, a new brew must be made every day.

    Basil

    • Basil has been shown to strengthen the kidneys and help dispel stones through the urinary tract. To treat kidney stones, create a concoction of one teaspoon of basil juice and one teaspoon of honey. Consume daily for six months.

    Grapes

    • Grapes are a virtual superfruit when it comes to kidneys due to their chemical makeup. They are a great diuretic, due to their high water and potassium salt levels, making them excellent tools to flush out the urinary tract. In addition, grapes contain low levels of chemicals that contribute to kidney stone development, such as albumin.

    Vitamin B6

    • Using a vitamin B6 supplement has been shown to help cure kidney stones. Those afflicted should consume between 100 to 150 milligrams of the substance daily for several months.
