What kind of surgery do you need if have severe nephrotosis?

In most cases, people with nephrotic syndrome do not require surgery. Treatment usually involves medications to reduce protein in the urine and improve kidney function. However, in some severe cases, surgery may be necessary if there are complications such as:

- Severe fluid retention that does not respond to medication: Surgery may be needed to remove excess fluid from the body, such as through peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis.

- Kidney failure: If the kidneys are severely damaged and unable to function properly, a kidney transplant may be necessary.

- Rare complications such as a blockage of the renal vein (renal vein thrombosis) or a condition called membranous nephropathy, where surgery may be needed to remove the affected kidney or to perform a procedure called plasmapheresis to remove harmful antibodies from the blood.
