Skin Symptoms

A rash may appear on the cheeks and across the nose. This shape of this rash is often compared to that of a butterfly. Also, skin sores and or mouth sores may develop.
Pain

An individual experiencing a lupus flare may experience chest pain. Also, they may have swelling and pain in the joints such as the knee or elbow joints.
Mental Health Symptoms

During a lupus flare, the afflicted individual may deal with depression and anxiety. They may also suffer from some memory loss.
Weight Changes

A person with lupus may cycle through noticeable weight fluctuations, gaining or losing weight during a flare.
Other Symptoms

While enduring a lupus flare, the affected individual may experience fatigue, hair loss,fever, dry eyes and easy bruising. Also, many individuals will notice that their toes and fingers turn white or blue when temperatures are cold or when they are feeling overly stressed. This discoloration is called Raynaud's phenomenon.
