How to Use Allicin to Treat Lyme
Lyme disease is a potentially debilitating disease that is usually treated with short term antibiotic therapy. Many people, however, suffer from chronic lyme disease and the search for an alternative treatment for this disease has become widespread. Allicin is a compound in garlic that has demonstrated antibiotic properties. In a study published in the journal Microbes and Infection in February 1999, by Serge Ankri and David Mirelman, allicin was found to have broad spectrum antibiotic power as well as antiparasitic and antifungal properties. Recently, a manufacturer of allicin supplements (Alimax) claimed that a study not yet published found that allicin eradicated a high percentage of the bacteria that cause lyme in human subjects. Allicin is also one of the main ingredients in the herbal protocol to treat lyme disease by Dr. Zhang, a prominent practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, or TCM.Things You'll Need
