How to Reduce Dizziness Symptoms
There are many causes for dizziness. Feeling dizzy or lightheaded is the result of an insufficient amount of blood getting to the brain. This may happen because of a sudden drop in blood pressure or standing up too quickly, or one of many health-related conditions. An imbalance in the inner ear may also cause dizziness, so it is best to consult a doctor to determine why you are experiencing it.Instructions

1
Get a physical. If the dizziness you are experiencing is caused by a health problem such as an inner ear imbalance or vertigo (dizziness accompanied by a spinning feeling), your doctor will prescribe a treatment plan to help correct the problem.

2
Get up slowly and avoid any sudden changes in position. From a low-seated position it is best to stand slowly and wait a few seconds before moving to allow the blood to circulate properly. If you are lying down, roll over to the side and sit up for a few minutes before attempting to stand. Standing up to quickly could cause you to feel dizzy or pass out. When attempting to stand, hold on to something for support in case you need to sit back down.

Eat something nutritious. Low blood sugar can cause an attack of dizziness; a light snack will usually fix this problem. Skipping a meal is often the cause of lightheadedness or slight nausea in patients with low blood sugar.

4
Get a moderate amount of exercise. Exercise increases blood flow and circulation. Poor circulation can cause bouts of dizziness as well as coldness in the lower extremities. A brisk walk for 10 to 20 minutes a day will help to get things moving.

Drink plenty of liquids, especially when it is hot outside. Dehydration can cause dizziness, nausea and headaches.
