Sick sinus syndrome is a group of conditions affecting the rhythm of the heart. The condition causes the heart to beat slower, faster or a combination of the two arrhythmias. In a normal heart rhythm, the sinus node controls the pace of the heart rhythm. Patients suffering from sick sinus condition usually require a pacemaker to control the heart rhythm, according to the Mayo Clinic.-
Slow Pulse

Sinus bradycardia is a slow heart rhythm controlled by the sinus node, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. Many patients do not feel any symptoms of the condition, or the symptoms come and go.
Fast Pulse

A fluttering heartbeat or heart palpitations is a symptom of sick sinus syndrome. A fast heart rate is called tachycardia. Palpitations occur when you can feel the heart beating in the chest.
Dizziness

Dizziness or light-headedness occurs when the flow of blood is reduced to the brain. The dizziness can lead to fainting or feeling as though you are off balance.
Chest Pains

Pain that occurs on the front of the body in the area between the upper part of the abdomen and below the neck is considered chest pain. Patients with an irregular heart rhythm may experience chest pain, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. Chest pain should be evaluated to determine the cause. Serious conditions, such as angina, may cause chest pain.
Fatigue

Short of Breath
